Portland, Oregon- The Collins Foundation Black Equity Movement (BEM) Committee is pleased to announce the 2023 BEM General Operations Grant. The grant is for emerging and mid-size Black-serving and/or Black-led organizations in Oregon which have been in operation for fewer than seven years or have an operating budget under $500,000. The maximum grant amount is $50,000.
Kimberlee Pierce Sheng, chair of the BEM committee, sees this as a pivotal moment for philanthropy in Oregon. “The BEM grants have grown out of relationship building. We have listened to and learned from Black organizations. They often do transformational work with limited resources. At The Collins Foundation, we can begin to change that reality with this commitment to Black organizations who serve Black communities across the state." The BEM General Operations Grant application is open until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023.
