Responsive Grantmaking Submission Guidelines

The Collins Foundation Statement: Shifting Our Funding Cycle

The Collins Foundation is dedicated to an equitable Oregon for all Oregonians, whoever they are and wherever they live in the state. To better help communities and organizations realize their goals, TCF is shifting our funding cycle. The next responsive grant program funding opportunity will be available in the summer of 2024.

We’re making this shift to implement our strategic plan to ensure our programs' continued sustainability and effectiveness in the long run. The Collins Foundation is deeply grateful to our partners- the dedicated community members, grantees, and beneficiaries who do the work every day of building an Oregon where we can all thrive. Our commitment to our mission and the communities and individuals we serve is unwavering.

Thank you for your support, patience, and understanding as we improve our systems and operationalize our strategic plan. In the meantime, contact us if you have any questions or want to discuss our organization's strategy moving forward. Email us at information@collinsfoundation.org.

Sincerely,

The Collins Foundation

Application Review Process & Timeline

All organizations must complete a one-time registration on our application portal. We recommend you register one full week before the LOI deadline,  as registration may take a few days to be approved.

The grant review process begins when the Foundation receives a completed letter of inquiry and usually requires sixteen weeks. Each LOI is read by a group of reviewers and evaluated against the Foundation’s guidelines and priorities. Applicants generally receive an email response to their LOI 2-4 weeks after the LOI due date below. Those organizations invited to continue past the LOI stage generally have 3-5 weeks to complete and submit a full proposal. Foundation staff may request additional written material and an interview or a site visit to gain more information about your work.

The Foundation’s trustees generally make funding decisions within 10 weeks of receiving a full proposal. Once a request has been funded or declined, the applicant is notified promptly. Foundation trustees meet six times annually to make decisions on grant requests according to the following schedule:
