At the June meeting of the Trustees, The Collins Foundation was proud to award 22 single-year grants and 10 multi-year grants, totaling nearly $1.4 million to nonprofits across Oregon.
Arts
Broadway Rose Theatre Company -- $12,000 to produce "West Side Story" for audiences in the greater Portland area
Chamber Music Northwest -- $20,000 to support year-round chamber music programs, outreach, and operations in the Portland area
Little Theater on the Bay -- $45,000 to upgrade the historic Liberty Theater in rural Coos County to improve accessibility for patrons
Maude I. Kerns Art Center -- $15,000 to hire a part-time cultural services coordinator to expand cultural arts programming and engage more artists and residents of all ages in the Eugene area
Oregon Repertory Singers -- $7,500 to support adult choir performances in the greater Portland area
Children & Youth
Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis -- $135,000 over two years to construct a teen and wellness center that offers medical, dental, and mental health services and social/educational programs for low-income youth and their families in Benton County
Friends of the Mentor Program -- $35,000 over two years to support mentoring programs serving low-income, underserved K-12 students in three rural Lake County communities
Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington -- $112,000 over two years to increase participation of Latina girls and adult volunteers across Oregon, continue internal equity training, and pilot and plan equity training for volunteers
Josephine County Foundation -- $40,000 over two years to expand a program manager position to full-time to support a student-led program addressing community needs in rural Josephine County
Morpheus Youth Project -- $5,000 to provide operating support for arts-based youth development and cultural education programs for incarcerated youth in Oregon and underserved students of color from low-income families in East Multnomah County
Volunteers of America Oregon -- $75,000 to renovate a building and increase staffing to expand culturally responsive relief nursery services predominately for low-income African American families with infants and toddlers at risk of abuse in East Portland

Adelante Mujeres -- $65,000 over three years to hire a director of microenterprise to expand culturally-specific programs fostering economic self-sufficiency for low-income Latino entrepreneurs primarily in Washington County and agricultural communities in Oregon
Portland Fruit Tree Project -- $18,000 over two years to expand community harvesting programs to increase access to fresh local fruit for low-income, food-insecure individuals and families in Portland and Gresham
Causa of Oregon -- $25,000 to support culturally specific cohort trainings to promote leadership development and civic engagement primarily among Latino immigrants in western and central Oregon
Civil Liberties Defense Center -- $10,000 to expand Know Your Rights programs for adults and promote civic engagement of youth from low-income, marginalized communities in Oregon
Community Food for Creswell -- $5,000 to purchase a freezer for a food pantry serving low-income, food-insecure individuals and families in rural, central Lane County
LifeWorks Northwest -- $25,000 to purchase a van to transport young children at risk of abuse who are enrolled in a relief nursery program serving low-income, Washington County families
Meals on Wheels People -- $25,000 to upgrade technology systems to improve operational efficiencies and food programs primarily for nutritionally at-risk seniors and homebound individuals in Multnomah, Washington, and Clark Counties
Northwest Housing Alternatives -- $20,000 to recruit and train volunteers to expand youth education programs at housing sites serving a diverse mix of low-income families in Portland, Wilsonville, and Hermiston
Urban Gleaners -- $22,000 to purchase a refrigerator/freezer to safely store perishable foods for more low-income, food-insecure children and their families in Multnomah County
Education
College Possible -- $120,000 over three years to prepare more low-income, Portland-area students of color for college and assist them in overcoming academic and financial barriers
Gateway to College National Network -- $50,000 over two years to provide low-income, foster, homeless, and adjudicated youth in Washington and Multnomah Counties alternative pathways to college and careers
Environment
Mount Pisgah Arboretum -- $45,000 over three years to create interactive, interpretive exhibits and new signage for visitors to the Lane County arboretum
Center for Diversity & the Environment -- $35,000 to promote equity in Oregon's environmental movement by expanding the organization's leadership development programs to include a cohort of culturally diverse young environmental leaders
Health & Science
Asian Health & Service Center -- $150,000 over two years to construct the Asian Health and Service Center to house culturally-specific health, education, and social service programs for low-income Asian Americans and Asian immigrants residing in the greater Portland area
Friends of Creston Children's Dental Clinic -- $15,000 to provide comprehensive dental services at a school-based dental clinic in Portland for more K-12 students, predominantly from low-income immigrant families through a challenge match
Elgin Health District -- $125,000 to construct a new clinic to expand medical, dental, physical therapy, behavioral health, and pharmacy services for medically underserved residents of rural Union County
Healing Reins Therapeutic Riding Center -- $15,000 to purchase a modular building to expand office space and add a classroom to support equine-assisted therapy services for people with disabilities in Central Oregon
Options for Southern Oregon -- $50,000 to renovate a facility to house mental health programs for low-income residents of the rural Illinois Valley
Southwest Community Health Center -- $25,000 to enhance clinic programs and operations to address primary healthcare and wellness needs of low-income, uninsured individuals and Latino immigrants residing in the greater Portland area
Humanities
Lincoln County Historical Society -- $45,000 to construct a theater space for lectures and presentations at the Pacific Maritime Heritage Center to serve central coast residents and visitors to the rural Newport area through a challenge match
Painted Sky -- $7,000 to connect reservation- and urban-based Native American youth in Oregon to their cultural roots through traditional dance instruction and performances
